Buckeye Help at Radioton

OSU Alumni Club of WNC man the phones (Asheville Mall - Food Court) for Mission Children's Hospital Friends for Life Radiothon. Mission Children's is the only pediatric hospital in WNC. More than 6500 children were cared for in the hospital with 35,000 as out patients. Friends for Life is an extension of Mission Children's lifeline to families so they can access service close to home. The goal is $100,000 so hope and healing can be offered to every child.

OSU Artist Malcom Baroway comes to Asheville

OSU Artist Malcom Baroway came to Asheville and displayed his works at Studio B, owned by an OSU Alumnus Patti Bell. Studio B hosted an welcoming reception for OSU Alumni and guests to view the beautiful work done by Malcom. Part of the proceeds was donated to the clubs scholarship program

RiverLink Clean-up

The Ohio State University Alumni Club of WNC has agreed to adopt a portion of Reed's Creek, a tributary leading into the French Broad River. This portion of the creek crosses Broadway Avenue in Asheville adjoining the entrance to UNC-Asheville Campus and runs thru the Botanical Gardens. Thirteen OSU Alumni gathered in June for the first of two annual cleanups and did an outstanding job. Lots of debris was cleared and trash removed. A fun time was had by all. Our next clean up is scheduled for Saturday, November 1st at 10am. We meet at the Botanical Garden's Parking lot. This event is open to all alumni and friends of Ohio State. We welcome you to help us in this community project. All supplies are provided and we take about two hours to clean the river. Joe Grady is our Chairman for this event.

Over 120 Ohio State Alumni gathered at the Biltmore Country Club at its 1st year anniversary party and to welcome OSU Alumni President Archie Griffin to Asheville. The outdoor weather, with a background of the beautiful WNC mountains, made it a perfect evening and impressed many of our guests from Columbus
